Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System
With skin that's slicker than a can of oil and having a fancy for breakouts, being invited to a loft in New York City to meet the founders of the Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System made me excited and nervous at the same time. I've suffered with embarassing "you're not a teenager anymore so why do you have acne" breakouts for the past two years and have personally tried almost every high and low end product line marketed towards clearer skin.
Fast forward almost a month after my first use of their newest product, the Clarisonic Mia, I can tell you the hype around this product is 100% valid. During the first week, my skin not only looked cleaner...but, had an improved texture. Since using Mia, the products that I normally use are actually able to work on my skin due to cleaner pores. Therefore my skin looks clearer, has a better tone, and my blemishes from past breakouts are disappering. One of my BFFs, Omoju, a regular Clarisonic user, told me my face and my neck are now two different colors...I guess that's good, but I'll have to remedy that soon. You can also use Mia on your neck, but the innovators at Clarisonic have launched the Clarisonic PLUS, which allows interchanging of the brush heads for the face and the body.
How does the system work? A member of the Clarisonic team, Dr. Robb Akridge explains...this is not just a simple battery-powered scrub brush. Through a demonstration, Akridge shows that the Clarisonic brush heads are moving so fast, you can barely see the motion of the bristles turning. The Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System uses a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second (!) to clean, soften and smooth your skin. Using it 60 seconds, Clarisonic Mia 2 ,twice a day, the micro-massage action removes 6 times more makeup and 2 times more dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone! By removing more dirt and oil from your pores, it helps products work more effectively.
With the company based and all parts assembled in Bellvue, WA, this American-made product is so amazing and is a must-have for those seeking great skin. The Clarisonic system is waterproof, compact, cordless and uses an international charger (for you globe trotters) about once a week if used regularly. Added plus, it's super easy to use, so men will love it as much as the ladies. Hello, summer skin...I've missed you!
